James Newell Brookes was born on March 12th and went to heaven on December 17, 2015 at the age of 86. Dear son of the late Richard H. and Ethel Brookes; beloved husband of Linda Brookes (nee; Pate); loving father of Susan Truesdell, Thomas Brooks, Carol Ciszcyon, Jean Marie Barron, the late Julie Brookes and James R. Brookes and two step-children, Gerald Bione and Susan Bione; dear brother of the late Richard H. Brookes, Jr.; cherished grandfather and great-grandfather.
James served during the Korean War in 1951-52. He retired from AT&T in January of 1987. He will be dearly missed.
A celebration of life will take place at Alexander-White-Mullen Funeral Home on Monday, December 21st at 11:30 AM. Visitation from 11 AM until the time of service.
The family has requested that no flowers or plants be sent. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Jim's honor to New Heights Christian Church, 12455 Natural Bridge Rd, Bridgeton, MO 63044.
