

Joseph Franklin (Joe) RAYFIELD, age 102, of Saint Charles, Missouri passed away on Tuesday, August 31, 2021. Joseph was born August 27, 1919, at Redford, Missouri. He was one of seven children born to Leo and Maude Rayfield. After returning from service in WWII he married Leora Creech on January 25, 1947, at Troy, Missouri. Leora preceded Joe in death on December 21, 2011. They had a wonderful life together for 65 years.
Joe served 45 months in the Army Air Corps during WWII, with half of the service being in the US and the other half in England and France. Following his military service he worked as a civilian employee with the US Army and the US Air Force in St. Louis, MO, Denver, CO, and Washington D.C.
In 1967 he transferred to the US Postal Service in St. Louis, MO as the Assistant Director of a Data Processing Center, where he remained until his retirement on June 30, 1973. Following his retirement he and his wife Leora and daughter Sharon moved to San Jose CA and remained there until mid 2007 when they returned to St. Charles, MO.
He is survived by two children: Dennis A. Rayfield of Harrisburg, PA, and Sharon A. Rayfield of St. Charles, MO. He was preceded in death by both parents, his wife Leora, his brothers Donald L. and Harold K. Rayfield, and his sisters Pauline Forgy, June Lester, Hazel Blakey, and Dorothy Vaughn.
Services: Visitation 2:30 PM- 3:30 PM on Thursday, September 16, 2021 at Alexander White Mullen Funeral Home 11101 St. Charles Rock Road, St. Ann, MO 63074. Followed by Entombment at Mount Lebanon Mausoleum with military honors.
