

Kenneth Wayne Klaus, age 90, of O'Fallon, Missouri, formerly of Florissant, Missouri went home to rest with his personal Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, October 24, 2025. He was a beloved husband, dad, papa, great papa, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. He was a hard-working and loving family man. He will be dearly missed by family and friends.
Ken was born February 1, 1935 in Overland, Missouri, the oldest of two sons of Clarence and Myrtle Klaus. He graduated from Ritenour High School in 1953. Ken was married to the love of his life, Helen Ekstrom for 69 years. They were blessed with four sons, eleven grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.
Ken served in the United States Navy in 1956 and was stationed in Okinawa, Japan, until he was honorably discharged in 1957. After serving, he worked several jobs until he began his 30 plus year career at McDonnell Aircraft/Boeing in 1961. After retirement, Ken worked part time at Handyman Hardware and Advanced Auto Parts as a delivery driver.
Ken grew up attending Kingsland Presbyterian Church. He was a member of Cross Keys Baptist Church, Florissant Valley Baptist Church, and then Parker Road Baptist Church. Ken taught Sunday School for youth to senior adults, served as a deacon and a trustee, and enjoyed singing in the choir.
Ken never met a stranger and enjoyed conversations with everyone he met. He liked his St. Louis Cardinals baseball. He loved gospel music and listened to Bill Gaither music both in his car and at home.
Ken is survived by his loving wife, Helen; his sons Steven (Colleen) Klaus, Chuck Klaus, Ron (Vicky) Klaus, David (Rhonda) Klaus, his grandchildren, and his great grandchildren, his brother Delbert (Barbara) Klaus and brother-in-law Gust (Cheri) Ekstrom. He was preceded in death by his parents and his grandson.
Visitation at Parker Road Baptist Church, 2675 Parker Road, Florissant, Missouri 63033 on Sunday, November 2nd from 2 - 5 pm and Monday, November 3rd from 10 - 11 am. The funeral service will follow at 11 am. Burial with military honors will follow at Mount Lebanon Cemetery , 111101 St. Charles Rock Road, St. Ann, Missouri.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Kenneth’s name to Parker Road Baptist Church for Operation Christmas Child or to Gideons International.
