Lawrence “Larry” Eugene West, 65, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, January 3, 2018. He is preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Sylvia (nee Owen) West and a sister, Betty (Tom) Cierpot. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Linda (nee Bean) West; daughter, Marcia West; granddaughter, Libbie West; siblings Leroy (Claire) West, Karen West, Margaret Kirk (John “Chip” Allison, Jr.); brother-in-law to Tom (Janet) Bean, Mike (Debbie) Bean, Debbie Harper, and Peggy King; dear uncle, cousin, and friend to many.
Larry was the best man on Earth. He was funny, energetic, and was always one to pay it forward. Larry would help anyone who needed anything and he forgave anyone who ever wronged him. He was a lover of music (particularly classic rock) and enjoyed watching local bands perform after he helped set them. He was the “ultimate roadie.” He actively participated in fundraisers and loved to make people laugh. Larry was a great husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. His warm, funny, and loving heart will be missed.
A celebration of Larry’s life will be held on Friday, January 19, 2018 at the Florissant VFW at 4105 Rue St. Francois starting at 4 p.m. Expressions of condolence may be offered at www.alexanderstlouis.com and memorials are appreciated to Backstoppers (a charity close to Larry’s heart) or to the family.
