Leon A. Deimeke, age 93, was called home on January 27th, 2023, with family by his side. Leon was born in Martinsburg, Missouri, to Anthony J. and Martha G. (nee Stuckenschneider) Deimeke on Nov. 19, 1929. He is survived by his wife, Deann.
Leon attended St. Louis University with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering. He joined the Air Force as 1st Lieutenant and was stationed in French Morocco. Upon discharge he worked for McDonnell Aircraft as an Electronics Engineer for 33 years.
Upon retirement at age 62, he finally met the love of his life, and married Deann. He became the loving Stepfather to her children, Denise Gittemeier (Dave), Debra Disser, and the late Douglas Disser; and Step-grandfather to Tina Chumbley (Tony), Great grandfather to Rae and A.J.
He is survived by his brothers, Carl Deimeke (Kathy dec.) of Phoenix, AZ, Cletus Deimeke (Freda) of Martinsburg, MO. A sister, Mary Ruth, is deceased. Brother-in-Law to David (Virginia) Young, Roslyn (Laurence) Smith, and the late Celeste (Rex) Clingan, and Hal Young. Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, and friends.
He volunteered at DePaul hospital and was active in the Republican Party as Committeeman. He enjoyed playing golf, painting, and woodworking, of which Republican elephants were his specialty. He was an avid Cardinal fan.
Leon had extraordinary love and devotion to his church and family.
