

Leonard C. Bramstedt, age 88 of Columbia, Missouri, formerly of Florissant, Missouri, went home to rest with his personal Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Wednesday, June 26, 2024. He was a beloved husband, father, grandpa, and brother. He was a hardworking and loving family man and always had a good joke or story. He will be dearly missed by family and friends alike.
Leonard was born on January 16,1936 in St. John, Missouri, one of four children of Arthur and Nonie (Hutcherson) Bramstedt. He graduated from Ritenour Senior High School and married Frankie Janz, on June 25, 1960. They were blessed with four children, eight grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
Leonard grew up in St. Louis and remained a lifelong Cardinals fan. He loved talking about his experiences as part of The Knothole Gang, attending ball games at Busch Stadium whenever he could. His father and uncles owned J.H. Bramstedt & Sons, an ice, feed, and coal store, where he often helped with deliveries.
Leonard served in the armed forces in Germany for two years. After his service, he worked at McDonnell Douglas, and supervised men on the line making the F18 and other aircraft. In his free time, he loved to bowl, play softball, and golf. He was a devoted servant of Jesus Christ, serving as a deacon at Overland Baptist and Cross Keys Baptist churches and a member at Parker Road Baptist Church.
Leonard is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Frankie; his son Chris (Beth) Bramstedt; his daughters Cindy (Kevin) Hicks and Kristen (Shawn) Stranckmeyer; eight grandchildren Jenny Hicks, Justin (Ning) Hicks, Curtis Hicks, Brandon (Liz) Bramstedt, Chandler Bramstedt, Brody, Briley, and True Stranckmeyer; and four great grandchildren Estrella Secundino and Walter Toto-Hicks, as well as Aurora and Ophelia Bramstedt. Leonard was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Connie Bramstedt; his great-grandson Angel Secundino; his brothers, Raymond, and Arthur Bramstedt; and his sister, Linda Sue Houston.
Services: Visitation at Alexander-White-Mullen Funeral Home, 11101 St. Charles Rock Road, St. Ann, Missouri on Saturday, July 6 from 10:30 a.m. until the funeral service at 11:30 a.m. Burial with military honors follows at Mount Lebanon Cemetery, 11101 St. Charles Rock Road, St. Ann, Missouri.
