Lillie F. Martin

Lillie Frances Martin (nee Bopp), passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 10, 2015. She is preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Mabel (nee Schulze) Bopp; her husband, Thomas; a brother, Victor; and a sister, Stella.

Lillie is survived by her devoted daughter, Kay (Steve) Eggelston; granddaughter, Kayla Eggelston (Steven Greco); grandson, Ian Eggelston; great granddaughter, Karli Greco; and her best friends, Marilyn Dunn and Darlene Geissmann.

Lillie was a hard-working and independent woman. She grew up on a farm in Calhoun County, IL sorting apples and tending to her pet pig. She met her husband, Thomas, by chance when she was in her 40's and they were fortunate enough to be blessed with one daughter. They enjoyed time together doing the Polka, the Waltz, and Lillie especially enjoyed the Jitterbug. Thomas and Lillie had a wonderful life together and travelled extensively--even surviving a few hurricanes! Lillie loved her garden and she spent her summers canning and giving away tomatoes. The family was especially fond of her "Yelly Jelly." She will be missed by everyone who had the pleasure to have known her!

Friends may visit on Sunday, December 13, 2015 from 11-1 at Alexander-White-Mullen Funeral Home in St. Ann, MO. Service is at 1 p.m. Interment at St. Charles Memorial Gardens. Expressions of condolence may be offered at www.alexanderstlouis.com.
