She was the devoted mother of Jeffrey Valencia, and the loving sister of the late Kristen Wright, the late Vicki Valencia, and the late Tammy J. Harr. Melissa was cherished by her niece, Regina M. Parr and her nephew, the late Thomas Mathews. She was the dear great-aunt of Crystal, Thomas, Victor, and Lepecha Mathews, the great grand-aunt of Nevaeh, Makayla, Zecharia, Jocelyn Grace, and Kyree, and a dear cousin and friend to many.
Melissa was raised in Kansas City, Missouri. She was very tight with her sisters all her life. She had a great zest for life like no other. She was a real comedienne and kept the family laughing, always. She loved her son Jeffrey very much and her greatest wish was for his safety and comfort.
