Nora Garner loved to cook and was renowned by family and friends for her delicious cakes. As she kept her family fed with “good homecooking” there was no shortage of love in either direction. Her children say she was a wonderful mother who showed strength and dignity until the end.
Nora, age 90, of Breckenridge Hills, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 30, 2012, just four days short of her 91st birthday, at Life care Center in Bridgeton. She was the beloved mother of Barbara (Glen) Bray, Deborah Garner and James (Shellee) Garner. Loving grandmother of five, great-grandmother of six and great-great grandmother of two. She was preceded in death by husbands Julius B. Cope and James W. Garner, and daughters Gloria Cossey and Joyce Giancola.
In keeping with Nora’s wishes her earthly remains will be cremated. A burial service will be held at a later date at Mount Lebanon Cemetery.
