Born on October 30, 1942, Robert was the beloved son of Oliver and Dorothy Murphy. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Tom Murphy; his nieces, Lynne Murphy and Anne Lytle (née Murphy); and his brother-in-law, Fred Ficht.
Robert is survived by his devoted wife, Lisa Murphy; his children, Teresa Padratzik (Brad), Karen Johnson (Steve), Timothy Murphy, Kate Murphy (Tim Carl), and Patrick Murphy (Megan Goessling); his cherished grandsons, Jacob and Lucas Padratzik; his sister, Barbara Ficht; and his sister-in-law, Virginia Murphy. He will also be remembered fondly by extended family, friends, and all who had the joy of knowing him.
A graduate of Chaminade High School and St. Louis University, Robert dedicated 25 years of his professional life to Monsanto. Beyond his career, he found joy and friendship through his love of racquetball and handball.
Robert will be remembered for his warmth, dedication to his family, and the many lives he touched with kindness and good humor. His legacy will live on through the love he gave and the memories he leaves behind.
A funeral mass for Robert will be held Saturday, August 23, 2025 at 10:00 AM at St. Raphael the Archangel Church, 6047 Bishops Pl, St. Louis, MO 63109.
