Sally Jean Ward, 82 years young, of Waltonville, Illinois, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her two surviving daughters, Angela Lynn Ward and Kristin Marie Hodges and her four grandchildren, Cailey Nicole Hodges, Benton Allen Garner, Braedon Douglas Monroe Garner, and Landon Shane Hodges, all of whom were the apple of her eye. Sally finally had her long-awaited reunion with her first born daughter, Bonnie Lynn Ward (1962-1964) who preceded her in death.

Sally Jean Stealey was born on July 15, 1943, in St. Louis, Missouri, to parents Warren John Stealey (1922 -2002) and Betty Jean Dame (1925-1997). She was the oldest daughter, followed by sisters Nancy Jane Mareshal (1946-2007) and Betty Jo (Gary) Massey and brother John Warren Stealey. She was a beloved aunt to Vicki, Jeff (1966-2024), Laura, Jay, Michelle, Gary, Riley, and Connor; she was a great aunt, cousin, and friend to many.

Though small in stature, Sally had a larger-than-life personality. She had a gregarious, adventurous, youthful spirit that is evidenced in the many heartfelt memories that have been shared by those who loved her. Sally dedicated her life to caring for those she loved and created a legacy of strength, compassion, resilience, and family devotion that will continue for generations.
