Sharon was born June, 3, 1932 in Toledo, OH to Byron and Suzanne McCoy. She went on to marry Donald Opperman on October 19, 1949.
A talented seamstress and creative knitter, Sharon’s hands were always busy. Her love for the Bible and her faith in the Lord were the guiding lights of her life. Sharon passionately shared her wisdom and faith by teaching Bible school, Sunday school, and leading youth groups. After retirement, she and her husband, Donald, dedicated nearly two decades volunteering at the Rio Grande Bible Institute, where they enriched countless lives.
Sharon loved to travel and enjoyed the beach, where she was happiest barefoot.
Sharon is survived by her children, Sherylle (the late Doug) McGee, Shelley (the late Bruce) Kerley, Shawn (Mike) McCord, Shannon (Lesa) Opperman; and daughters-in-law, Patty and Kathy.
She was very proud of her large family, having 18 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Byron and Suzanne McCoy, her husband, Donald Opperman, and her two sons, Doug and Dave Opperman.
As we celebrate Sharon's life, we remember her for her unwavering faith and her servant’s heart for her church and community.
A visitation for Sharon will be held Monday, February 3, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Alexander-White-Mullen Funeral Home and Mt Lebanon Cemetery, 11101 St Charles Rock Rd, St. Ann, Missouri 63074. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM. Private family burial.
