Sharon was born January 26, 1942, in St. Louis, Missouri, to her parents Charles H. Hamann, Sr. and Gladys L. Hamann. She was married to the love of her life, Clacy J. Pruitt, from 1966 until his passing in 2020. Together they raised four children.
She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and enjoyed making a loving home for her family. Each Christmas she baked hundreds of Christmas cookies to share with her large family and delivered mounds of Christmas presents that she shopped for all year with her mother, Gladys. She decorated her house and celebrated each holiday with enthusiasm and love. Her home was a gathering place for friends and family to share traditions and make memories.
When her father died, Sharon’s mother moved to her and Clacy’s home and they lived very happily together for over 30 years and lovingly cared for one another. Together they made Grandma’s famous vegetable soup, pieced together countless puzzles, and doted on their grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Sharon was known as Mom to the friends of her children and later Grandma to those who met her in the last several decades of her life. She was the mother of four, grandmother of 13, great-grandmother of eight and honorary mom and grandma to many. She loved and spoiled everyone she met and once you met her you were in the family for life.
She loved Christmas shopping, her soap operas, coloring, puzzles, Pepsi, and dessert, especially ice cream and cheesecake, for every meal. Sharon had a great big heart and personality, and she viewed the world with a child-like wonder and enthusiasm. Everyone that ever met her loved her and she loved them. Being on the receiving end of one of her laughs was contagious. The world is a little less colorful without her.
Sharon was the beloved wife of the late Clacy J. Pruitt; daughter of the late Gladys L. (Cook) Hamann and the late Charles H. Hamann, Sr.; cherished sister of Charles H. (Barbara) Hamann, Jr.; loving mother of Theresa (Joe) Fischer, David (Diana) Fitzgerald, the late Karen (Kurt) Schulte and Stephen (Tina) Pruitt; dear grandmother of Christina (Allyson), Christopher (Vanessa), Zachary, and Joshua Fitzgerald; Garrett (Rhea), Julia (Kevin), and Marissa Fischer; Michael (Terry) Wilper and the late Alex Wichman; Stephen Pruitt, Jr., Krista (Ryan) McCormack, Anthony Pruitt, Kelley (Tyler) Pruitt, Dylan Marti and Brandon (Olivia) Marti; great-grandmother of London, Brixton, Danielle, Cara, Jaxson, Noah, Owen, Sage and the late Jameson.
