Verba Lee Henderson

Verba loved working and enjoyed a career as an Executive Secretary with the St. Louis Region 5 UAW until retirement. She later gave her time as a volunteer at the St. Peters Police Department. A faithful member of First St. Charles United Methodist Church, Verba was guided by her kindness and her generous spirit.

She loved gardening, cooking, traveling, and meeting new people; always welcoming others with an open heart and plenty to eat. Known for her warmth, humor, and playful spirit, Verba brought light and laughter wherever she went. Her family was her heart, and she poured love into every generation.

She is survived by her loving daughter Deborah Henderson (William Tucker); her devoted son David Henderson (Angie); grandchildren Nathan Janeczek (Corale Lamont); Sara Henderson (Casey Olearnick); Adam Henderson (Kristyn) and Kat Stoll (Eric); her dear sister Donna Ward; eight great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.

Verba is preceded in death by her parents Ercel and Rebecca Jackson; her children Cynthia Nenzel and Steven Henderson; and her siblings Patricia Zahn, Roberta Jean Held and James Jackson.

Verba leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering kindness. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

A Visitation for Verba will be held Sunday, August 24, 2025 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at Alexander-White-Mullen Funeral Home, 11101 Saint Charles Rock Road, St. Ann, MO 63074, followed by a Memorial Service at 12:30 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family invites donations in Verba’s memory to the Missouri Botanical Garden.
