Alan Edward DePorter, age 81, passed away on January 20, 2024. He was born in Sewickley, Pennsylvania on May 12, 1942 to his late parents Edward and Phila DePorter. Alan is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Gloria; loving children: Jeffrey, the late Jill (Don) Miller; and dear grandchildren: Justin and Claire. Also left to cherish his memory are many loving extended family and friends. Alan was an avid Michigan and Detroit sports fan; he enjoyed bowling, and coaching baseball and hockey. He loved traveling, visiting all 50 states, and going to spring training for the Tigers in Florida. Alan was a graduate of Lawrence Technology University. Donations in Alan's honor may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. (Instate 9:30 a.m.) at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 22412 Overlake, St. Clair Shores.
