Anthony William Crachiola

Anthony William Crachiola, age 95, passed away on April 28, 2023. He was born on July 14, 1927 in Detroit, Michigan to his dear parents Joseph and Mamie Cracchiolo. Anthony is survived by his wife Florence Crachiola. Anthony welcomed four children with his first wife Margaret (Backen) Crachiola; children: Joe (Beth) Crachiola, Ronald Crachiola, Karen (Ken) Price, Ingrid (Dan) Register. He welcomed five additional children into the family when he married Florence; children: the late William Karpovich, the late George Karpovich, Kathy (Brian) Geering, Karen (Vic) Tomenello, and Jon (Peggy) Karpovich. Anthony is survived by his grandchildren: Lisa (Ron) Oleski, Kevin Karpovich, Tony (Jennifer) Crachiola, the late Ruth Crachiola, Gina Bartulio, Jacob Matrille, the late Joseph Tomenello, Kate Matrille, Rachel Ruffing, Mary (Will) Ramey, Sarah Karpovich, Bill Karpovich, Matthew Register, Aaron Register; great-grandchildren: Ryan, Anna, Abby, Will, Joseph, Renee, Drew, Camille, Oliver, Stetson, Jackson, Lauren, Landyn, and Mia; and his sister: Florence (the late David) Van Howe. Anthony was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Jack Crachiola. He served in the United States Navy during World War II, and worked as a lineman for Detroit Edison for 46 years. Anthony enjoyed watching the Detroit Tigers, Lions, and was the University of Michigan football team’s biggest fan. He loved travelling, gardening, food and most of all family, wishing everyone well by saying, “God Bless”. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Special Olympics Michigan or the Disabled Veterans of America. Funeral Mass, Saturday, May 6, 2023 at 11:30 a.m. (Instate 11:00 a.m.) at St. Peter Catholic Church, 95 Market Street, Mt. Clemens.
