Barbara Jean Post, age 76, passed away on October 2, 2024. She was born on April 22, 1948 in Detroit, Michigan to her late parents Allen and Arline Heckman. Barbara was also preceded in death by her husband, David Post, and brothers, Ronald Heckman and Mark Heckman. She is survived by her loving siblings: Cheryll Heckman and Robert (Barbara) Heckman; sister-in-law: Karen Heckman; nephews: Jeremy, Kristopher (Michelle), Shaun (Erin), Nathan, Michael (Kristin); great-niece and nephew: Eliza, Dylan; stepson: Kenneth (Nicole) Post; step-grandsons: James Post, Jacob Post, Jeffrey (Taylor) Post; and her beloved dog: Sadi.
Barbara attended St. Joan of Arc School and graduated in 1962, then going to South Lake High School and graduating in 1966. She retired as head bookkeeper from Trio Machine Products Corporation. Barbara sold Avon products for over 30 years. She was known for taking charge of family get togethers especially the family reunions. Barbara also enjoyed going to the casino with her mother. She had a great love of dogs and taking care of them was her world.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Michigan Humane Society, the ASPCA, or the American Cancer Society.
Memorial visitation, Friday, October 18, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a memorial service at 7:00 p.m. at Kaul Funeral Home, 28433 Jefferson Ave., St. Clair Shores.
