Bennie Edward Sergent

Bennie Edward Sergent, age 83, died Friday, September 22, 2017 in St. Clair Shores, Michigan. He was born March 25, 1934 in a log cabin, in Letcher Co., Kentucky to the late Archie and Sola (Cook) Sergent.

Bennie was in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict, when he returned he married and started his family. He belonged to St. Pat’s Senior Citizens and Nativity of Our Lord Church and Senior Citizens group. Bennie loved to fish, and watch basketball, specifically the Kentucky Wildcats and the Detroit Pistons.

On May 9, 1959, he married Marilyn Zack, and she preceded him in death, on February 14, 2001. Survivors include his children, Cheryl Lynn (Larry) Magnotte, Kevin (Elizabeth) Sergent, Joe (Aimee) Sergent, Jason (Anne) Sergent; 5 grandchildren, Vanessa (Jorge), Michael (Melissa), Joseph, Juliana, Lauren; siblings, Virginia, Harold, Janet, Janice, Dora. He was preceded in death by siblings, Thelma and Archie.

Visitation for Bennie will be Monday, September 25, from 6-9 and Tuesday, September 26, from 2-9 with a 7pm Rosary Service at Kaul Funeral Home, St. Clair Shores. A Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, September 27, at 11:00am with an hour of visitation prior at Nativity of Our Lord, 5900 McClellan Ave, Detroit, MI 48213. Burial at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Roseville, Michigan. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Nativity of Our Lord Church.
