Billie Sanford Stamps, age 85, of St. Clair Shores, Michigan passed away on March 4, 2022. He was born on January 3, 1937, to the proud parents Ruben V. Stamps and Rissie A. Stamps. Billie was the beloved husband to Linda Stamps for 39 years. He is the loving father to Sheree (Steven) Hietpas, Lisa (Tim) Stark and William (Laura) Stamps. Billie is the cherished grandpa to Samantha (Steven) Kowalski, Sarah (Aaron) Smith, Stephen Kominko, William Stamps Jr., Alan Stark and Jacob Stamps. He is the great grandpa to Vincent Stamps, Charlotte Stamps and Braylon Kowalski. Billie is the dear brother to Rita (Mike) Dudek and brother in law to Virginia Stamps and Cindy (Gary) Paye. Billie was preceded in death by his late wife Martha Ann Stamps and his brother Eukle Stamps. Billie will be missed by many family and friends.
Billie served two years in the U.S. Army in Germany. He was a drywall finisher and taught his son and son-in-laws the ropes. Billie loved his vintage cars and enjoyed going to car shows where he received several trophies over the years. He liked to do some woodworking from time to time, traveling, especially going to Tennessee where he loved to spend time with family. Billie was an avid collector of knives, hats, pins, he also enjoyed playing cards, games and scratching lottery tickets. Billie had a green thumb growing and tending to his garden year after year and enjoyed sitting out on the patio relaxing.
Funeral Service will be held on Thursday March 10, 2022, beginning with a gathering at 10:00 am, until time of service at 11:00 am, at Bethel Lutheran Church 26400 Little Mack Ave., St. Clair Shores, Michigan 48081.
Interment will take place at Cadillac Memorial Gardens East Cemetery in Clinton Township, Michigan following the services.
Memorials in memory of Billie are suggested to Bethel Lutheran Church or to a Charity of One’s Choice.
