What a wonderful lady who always had a great smile. 

I had the honor of caring for Bonnie when she was first diagnosed with breast cancer.  She was such a graceful and generous person.  Very year should would bring Dr. Wesen and me a Christmas present,  a thoughtfu and appreciated  gesture.  She knew I loved music and would gift me a Christmas CD.    A kind Soul indeed.

I am hesitant to admit that the first time I spoke with Bonnie, I was intimidated. She was a woman who was clearly very involved and informed with her health. Bonnie and I crossed paths a few years ago at this point. She came into my life in a professional capacity; I am a pharmacist and she was my patient. I wanted to do my best to help her, as I would for any of my patients. But over time, we developed a relationship much deeper than that typical of a pharmacist speaking with his patient. I never met Bonnie in person; however we spoke on the phone at least monthly these past few years. I would look forward to my calls with her. She would call my pharmacy and ask for me and only me (mind you, we have a staff of around 100 people). Bonnie truly made an effort to get to know me. Our conversations would range from speaking about medication, to her asking about my dog and my family all within the same phone call. In fact, our bond grew so strong that I was compelled to invite her to my wedding. And when my wedding party was cancelled due to the corona virus, she was so supportive of my decision to still go forward with the ceremony and marry my now wife. She even sent me such a thoughtful gift for my wedding, even though she was not able to make it. I have had some personal issues that caused me to miss some time at work these past few months. But the thing I regret most is the fact that I was not able to say goodbye to her. I pray that the family is able to find peace during this difficult time. She was an amazing woman who’s memory will never be forgotten. She made such an impact on me; that’s just the type of person she was. Rest In Peace Bonnie. Lord, please provide the strength to everyone who she made an impact on. Especially her husband Richard, who she loved so very much, and the rest of her family. 

Bonnie was my telephone friend for the last 25 years back when we were still being charged for long distance Massachusetts to Michigan.  As in all lasting friendships we shared many joys...the best of which was the births of our grandchildren Marshall and Marilyn Cobb. 

Bonnie approached everything with stoic determination to learn everything she could about and she always found her information; not an easy task for a woman who by choice did not own a computer.  I often sent her (yes by mail) articles I printed off the computer and ordered her things she had read about or couldn’t get in the local stores.

Bonnie seemed to have a saying for  any situation.  I’ll share a couple of my favorites. We talked often and it never failed that she would at some point say “ well I have to bring the bananas to my mother today” or “Rick is bringing the bananas to my mother” Then one day after what seemed like a million times of her saying this I said “boy your mother sure does like bananas “ well she started to laugh uncontrollably leaving me wondering what had I said. I learned that Banana was her code word or maybe a more local Michigan slang for money, anyway it was Bonnie’s and we have laughed about that ever since.  This might be my favorite.  Anytime I told Bonnie of something dumb or stupid I did she came back with “don’t think you’re the Lone Ranger”  Her come backs were always to make you feel you weren’t alone and  that she was in your corner 

I will miss her cards sent for every occasion under the sun. Hallmark stock must have gone down since she has gone.  I will very much miss her calls that always started “Hey Jackie, good time...bad time?”  Good Bye my friend Bonnie love ya




My dearest Bonnie, without a doubt the kindest,  most sincere, caring, loyal, honest, helpful, cheerful, friendly person one would ever wish to have met.  Infact, there are not enough adjectives to do her proper justice. With Bonnie, what you saw was always the real thing.  True to heart to a fault. Nothing phony ever.  She Loved life too its finest, enjoyed life and lived it too its fullest. She loved to travel, and had many hobbies from antiques, art, paintings, to belonging to an antique tractor club,  to shooting her .357 magnum pistol at the range (she had her concealed pistol license), or at her secret paradise upnorth, canoeing, riding her tractor and her 4 wheeler or turkey hunting.  I happen to be fortunate enough to win the lottery of life and to be part of such a beautiful person for 49 years and be the main recipient of all the beautiful things stated above.   All of her special values taught me through the years the real meaning of love. Bonnie was not only just my wife - best friend she was my everything and forever will be and with love always Moses

Bonnie was one of the most beautiful people on the planet. She was beautiful inside and out and will be greatly missed. She had a heart of gold and went out of her way to let you know she loved you. She even went so far as to order special dog biscuits from up north for my dog. Rick and Bonnie became dear friends of mine when I moved to St. Clair Shores 11 years ago. Every day of those 11 years has been a blessing, having them as neighbors. You are in God's hands now, my dear friend, and at peace. Rest easy and know that I love you and will miss you deeply.

My Nana has hundreds of great amazing wonderful times.  From  New years  to Christmas she never forgot anyone's birthday anniversary appointment or reservation.  She always looked out for everyone but herself.  She thought about everyone and everything with great Consideration. What you liked what you loved what you wanted what you needed went out of her way to surprise you with whatever you talked about months days or even years ago.  Always giving never wanting anything but a card or something hand made always quick to tell you a story about someone else's good deed or aspiration and never told you how she'd helped them just casual mention of a thing or a place she looked into or the correct store for the purpose.  She seemed to always know what people liked and where to find it. I've never come across a more dedicated woman to a purpose of her own design.  She seemed to get a kick out of making everyone happy around her but never went out of her way to make herself happy. She always knew which flavor which candy which color which thing to make everyone else happy.  My Nana loved her husband so much anything he needed or wanted was acquired and he never wanted or needed for anything but her! And her happiness was the main priority always in his heart Any thing she wanted or needed that was his goal forever and a day.  They loved each other too the moon and back! Aunt Bonnie always made you feel special. She had the kindest heart and when you talked with her you felt like she really took the time to listen. From the time I was a little kid there was always one constant with Aunt Bonnie. When she would send you a present or even a card, it would take 20 minutes to cut through all the tape she used. She used that special tape with what seemed like metal strings sewn into the tape. Don't know where she found that tape...but it took a jackhammer to open the box or card!! I never ever mentioned that because I didn't want to seem like I was complaining...I loved getting a package from Aunt Bonnie. I will miss our talks on the phone. Love you Aunt Bonnie! 

So many beautiful memories shared with the truest friend anyone could wish for.....always thoughtful, caring and kind.   My heart is happy for you at peace in your heavenly home with our Lord Jesus!
