Carl Albert Wetzel, age 78, of St. Clair Shores, Michigan passed away on March 19, 2022. He was born on September 8, 1943 to the proud mother of RoseMary Springer. Carl was the loving husband to the late Susan Wetzel. He was the loving father to Amy (Mark) Repp and Kelly (Terence) Corwin. Carl was the brother to Mary (David) Schlottman and the late Laneta Kammer. Carl was the brother-in-law to Charles (Margaret) Broedell and Thomas (Mary) Dionne.
Carl served his country and retired from the National Guard and the Army Reserves after serving for 35 years. He enjoyed playing softball and bowling. His passion was cars. In the early years of his marriage he owned his own gas and service station. His dream was always to restore a Crown Victoria and had actually bought the body of one to do in retirement. Unfortunately after Susan's passing he wasn't able to do the work and ended up buying a 1929 Model A and a 1966 Mercury Comet Convertible. He won many trophies with the Comet. But his greatest accomplishment was his family and friends who will greatly miss him.
Family will receive friends on Saturday May 7, 2022, beginning at 10:00 am until time of memorial service at 12:30 pm, at Kaul Funeral Home 28433 Jefferson Ave., St Clair Shores, Michigan 48081. Memorial donations in memory of Carl are suggested to the National Kidney Foundation.
