Charles R. Wingard, age 83, of St. Clair Shores, Michigan passed away on May 17, 2018. He was born on June 2, 1934, to the loving parents of Randall & Kathleen Wingard. Charles is the beloved husband of the late Cherie Wingard for 53 years. He is preceded in death by his sisters Mary and Patricia Wingard. Charlie had a great friendship with Robin Ferrara. He will be missed by many devoted cousins & friends. Charles was a graduate from Eastern High School. After graduation he attended Macomb Community College for two years. He then went on to join the United States Army in January 17, 1957. Charles then went to work at the Detroit Board of Education where he retired after 30 years in the Audio-Visual Department. Charles was a big part of the Grosse Point Lakeshore Chapter of Barbershop Harmony Chorus, Grosse Point Good News Singers and he sang in the choir at Lake Shore Presbyterian Church. He belonged to many organizations in St. Clair Shores, the Community Players, Parade Council, Symphony Board of Directors, and Lion’s Club. He also headed up the St. Clair Shores crime stoppers, as well as he chaired for the save our library camp. Family will receive friends on June 8, 2018, beginning at 11:00 am until time of service at 12:00 noon, at Lake Shore Presbyterian Church 27801 Jefferson Ave., St. Clair Shores, Michigan 48081. In lieu of flowers memorial appreciated to the Michigan Humane Society.
