Daniel Matthew Schabath

Daniel "Danny" Matthew Schabath, 72, of Detroit, Michigan, passed away peacefully on April 18, 2025, in Detroit. Born on February 23, 1953, in Detroit, Daniel was the thirteenth of fifteen siblings born to Harry and Eleanora Schabath. Growing up in a large family instilled in him a deep sense of loyalty and resilience that would define his life.

Danny dedicated 35 years to his craft as a carpenter, building not only fine cabinetry but also a reputation for being hardworking and heartfelt. His quiet demeanor and kind spirit left a lasting impression on those who had the privilege of working alongside him.

Family was central to Danny’s Life. He was a devoted father to Breann, stepfather to Reed (Danielle) Styers, and Shannon (Ryan) Hanschen. His love extended warmly to his step-grandchildren who brought him immense joy.

Danny was preceded in death by his beloved wife Sandra Baggot; his parents Harry and Eleanora; and siblings Kathleen, Lawrence, Pauline, Norah, and Mary. His memory remains cherished by his surviving siblings and all who knew him.

A memorial gathering to honor Daniel’s life will be held on May 9, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Kauls Funeral Home, located at 28433 Jefferson Ave., Saint Clair Shores, Michigan 48081. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Daniel’s enduring legacy with light refreshments.
