January 14,1957 - June 20, 2021
David Consiglio was a wonderful family man, a good worker at General Motors, and a civic leader in St. Clair Shores, Michigan. He is survived by his parents Carl and Joyce Consiglio, his brother Chris Consiglio and his wife Vicki. Brother Mark Consiglio and brother Joseph Consiglio and his wife Janine. David had three nephews, Brent, Matthew and William, and three nieces, Kim, Leslie and Alyse. Even though David never did get married, he treated his nieces and nephews as if they were his children. As a brother, David loved attending Tiger games with his brothers. As a son, he loved his parents dearly, and helped them out, most recently working on their back deck.
David Consiglio went to college, but enjoyed working more with his hands, and became a skilled tradesman, working with sheet metal. He later took a job at General Motors, as a skilled tradesman, and worked his way up to District 8 Committeeman, where he was dedicated and tough, fighting and winning for his brother and sisters in the UAW Local 22. Known as the "Bulldog", David represented hundreds of United Auto Workers, until his health and pancreatic cancer forced him to retire.
Lastly, David was instrumental in getting the canals of St. Clair Shores cleaned up from PCB contaminants, as he was a civil leader getting millions of dollars from the federal government to complete the cleanup project.
David's long 5 year battle with pancreatic cancer has ended, but his legacy as a family man, a loyal UAW worker, and civic activist, touched thousands of lives in Southeast Michigan, and will be remembered forever.
David Consiglio will be remembered at a church mass at St. Isaac Jogues, on Friday, July 9, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. A luncheon will follow this mass at Lakeland Manor in St. Clair Shores.
