Mr. Bens was my Confirmation sponsor at St. Gertrudes. I went to school with his son Mike and Mike played baseball for my dad when we live in St. Clair Shores from 1959 to 1967. I remember the huge family. I think Mr. Bens may have even been our insurance agent when we lived there. He must have been a man of great Catholic faith for my father to suggest him as my sponsor for Confirmation. I hope all the Bens Family is doing well.
