Dorothea Marie Fortier, age 89, passed away on April 28, 2023. She was born on August 6, 1933 in Dixon, Illinois to her late parents George and Mary Kofoed. Dorothea is survived by her beloved husband of 60 years, Edward W. Fortier; son: Philip (Kelly) Fortier; grandchildren: Caitlyn, Patrick; brother: John (Wanda) Kofoed; nephew and niece: Brad (Sandra) Kofoed, Karen (Sam) Snyder; and great nieces: Amy, JoAnn, Dana, and Amber. She was an extremely talented quilter, embroiderer, and cross-stitching expert and won numerous awards for her work. She loved the southwest and enjoyed living in Albuquerque for 26 years before moving back to Michigan.
