Eli Csernyant

Eli Csernyant, age 80, a longtime resident of St. Clair Shores, died on October 24, 2016 in Detroit. He was born on August 11, 1936 in Detroit and was employed at McLouth Steel which became Jones and Laughlin Steel for over 30 years. He later worked in maintenance at Nightingale Nursing Home in Sterling Heights. In his retirement years he was devoted to his wife, son, daughters and grandchildren. He maintained traditions from his Romanian Heritage. Beloved husband of Anna. Dear father of Eli (Jean), Rhonda (David) Boeberitz, Laura (James) Knieper and Melinda (Thomas) Fetter; loving grandfather of Eli, Kimberly, Abigail, Racheal, William, Phoebe, Jason, Jessica and Jaquelyn. He is also survived by his sister Florence Churilla, many loving nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his son and daughter in law Steven (Laura Lee), his brother Theodore, sister Anna Blaga and his parents Todor and Mona (Maran) Csernyant. . Visitation Friday, October 28th from 3-9pm with a 7pm prayer service followed by a 10 am funeral service Saturday, October 29th at Kaul Funeral Home, 28433 Jefferson Avenue, St. Clair Shores.
