Thinking of all her family,Emily was a beautiful person that lived next to me in Taylor with Freddie,Sandra,Mario,and Deborah.She was kind and sweet and I have such fond memories of her,my heart goes out to all the family

My deepest condolences go out to the entire family, especially to her daughter Sandra, my cousin Antoine, and their children, as well as to her other children, Mario and Deborah, and their families. I first met Emily in the 1980s when my cousin Antoine began dating Sandra, who he later married. I have always admired Emily's kind and gentle nature, and I’m grateful for the way she welcomed Antoine as a second mother when he moved to the USA. Her presence, along with her husband’s, undoubtedly made the transition easier for him, especially during a time when staying connected across distant countries was challenging.

I also want to express my appreciation for the warm hospitality that Emily, Freddie, and the entire family showed to my father during his visits. When he was working in Jamaica, he would often spend his short breaks in Detroit, as Malta was too far for a brief visit. In Detroit, surrounded by family, including Emily, he found a sense of home.

Once again, I extend my heartfelt sympathies to everyone. I’m sure that when Emily reunites with my mother and father in heaven, they will have much to share and remember together.

All of us here at Penrickton Center for Blind Children are saddened to learn of Emily’s passing and offer our deepest sympathies to Alfred, their children and extended family.  It is truly an honor for our program to be receiving memorial donations in Emily’s honor.  Please accept our sincerest condolences.
