Frank and Carol lived across the street from my family. My mom asked just yesterday if Frank was on Facebook as she wondered how he was doing. I was so sad to find he had recently passed. He was great neighbor and friend to my family. He will greatly missed,  as I read just how many lives he touched, I feel blessed to have known him. My thoughts and prayers go out to Carol and his girls. 🙏🏻

I lived across the street from Frank and Carol.  Frank and I lifted weights and worked out in his garage.  Frank was the kind of guy that always made you feel like you where family even if you haven’t seen him in years. Carol my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Frank was an inspiration for me, as he was for many, more than I'm sure he realized; which is not suprising.   Like my own father,  he led by example and I learned from him by the way he lived his life.  The love for his girls; Carol, Janele, Kelsey and Shawna, was endearing to witness.  Hopefully, through pictures and stories, we can do justice to his memory, by conveying to the grandchildren what an amazing man he was and how much he cared for them.  My last memory of Frank was of him hugging one of his girls - giving love and comfort during a difficult time.  That was Frank.

To my best friend the love of my life and my Soulmate. I feel so blessed for our life together (46 years) our three amazing daughters ,son in laws and sweet grandchildren . We have so many wonderful memories but we had plans for so many more. I can't imagine my life without you. You're the best thing that ever happened to me I miss you so much and I will LOVE you forever ❤

My Father is truly a hero. To look back and realize that I am so blessed to have had his guidance, to learn through the way he lived as a loving husband, father, friend and leader.  He was tough with a touch of grace, self motivated and educated. He taught me through actions how to really love someone with your whole heart the way he loved my Mom, to never give up the way he stood by my side. That we could be anything. The people he helped, motivated and saved. The freedom of sobriety, hard work, humility, honor, respect and pride. I will miss you with everything I am and honor your legacy every single day. Rest easy, Puppa Bear. You are why I am. 

Frank was my high school friend, my work buddy and sometimes my boss. Godfather to our son Eddie, best of all he was our brother in law. He was always there for anyone who needed anything. So many great times and memories together. Sure going to miss you bro.

I remember my brother Brian and I was working in Lansing together about 6 years ago it was about 2 mins until lunch and Frank sneaks up behind us and we’re doing nothing because we just climbed out a hole just waiting until lunch and you all know what Frank would say “Look 120 dollars an hour hard at work” Frank was always never lost to tell it like it is. I’ll miss you Brother.

We are very sorry for your loss Carol and the family. Frank was a one of a kind individual. A great husband, father, grandpa, brother and much more that I’m sure I’m not aware of. He was always fun to have on a job unless you were still learning how to play cards and you didn’t throw the right one. He was a great leader and teacher, but there were times I was unsure if it was being done correct or everyone was going to have a good laugh. We enjoyed his company when he would come out to Las Vegas for Millwright business and have him over for an evening of food and laughs. He was one of a kind and will be missed by us and many people he has touched in his lifetime. RIP buddy.....

I am the cousin of Carol whom I have always loved, adored and looked up to for many years. I was just a young girl when Frank and Carol got together and got married. I also loved Frank to pieces, he was such a fun, crazy, loving, caring man who just happened the love my cousin Carol and was lucky enough to become her husband. Over the years we would have get together's at my parents Herb & Evelyn's home. They used to like coming up from the city and hanging out in the country, and my parents Herb & Evelyn always new how to put on a good party. I remember Frank was always thinking he was SO funny (by the was he was EXTREMELY funny) and i had a piece of cake on a plate in my hand when he thought he would be funny and grab me and head towards to pond!! Let's just say I did get wet when he launched me in the pond but not before he had a face full of cake !! We still joked and laughed about that day whenever we got the chance. I will miss Frank dearly and my love goes out to Carol, Shawna, Kelsey, Jenele and their families.

I am just a few years younger than my cousin Carol Benson and I always looked up to her and loved being around her.  I remember the first time I met her boyfriend  Frank!  I thought he was so cool because he had long hair and played hockey!!!  They were such a cute couple and years later I had the honor of being in their wedding.  Then and after that I realized that what was "cool" about Frank was the way he loved my cousin Carol and later when I saw how  he loved his 3 daughters.    He was all about family and  always stayed "cool" in my opinion.  He was one in a million.   I send all my love to Carol, Shawna, Janele, Kelsey and their famlies.

Dear Uncle Frank,
I am not sure where to start... but I know for sure that I am going to miss you and think about you for the rest of my existence. You are/were such an amazing man. What I really loved about you is you were always real and honest about everything. You weren't ever afraid of speaking your mind and letting me know if I screwed up, which at the time I needed to hear. You always had a positive up beat spirit about you. I can never forget how you always greeted me coming through your house, "Waaazzz uuuppp?" and a cracked grin. Gosh, I am going to miss that. And believe it or not, I am also going to miss the arguments you and my dad having in regards to politics. You guys could go for hours just arguing about things I didn't even comprehend. But I always appreciated your knowledge and confidence. You also worked hard at everything you did. You worked hard at millwrighting or being a councilman and also in the great game of hockey. Franky, you were so crazy you would block shots from the point with your face! You have always been an inspiration not only in hockey and sobriety, but how loving and compassionate you were. Franky, you absolutely adored Aunt Carol, and that was always so evident. You loved that woman with every cell in your body. You two define love and partnership. You were also a loving and selfless father who took care of your girls. You were also a great uncle to my siblings and I.  You had this comforting demeaner about you that really just made us feel at home in your presence. There is forever going to be a void with you gone, but I feel like a piece of you is with me, forever. I will always try to demonstrate the love you had for others and in life itself. I love you so much Uncle Frank. I will miss you always.

I have known Frank since Lakeview High School and working with him for 30 years as a millwright. I know him well as we worked together for Overhead Conveyor Co. many times as Mike Benacquisto  and John Skurya put us together as working partners a lot because I could not hear well and Frank was the only one who spoke loudly enough for me to hear. Actually we were together because I couldn't hear.  I remember a time we both played on the millwrights hockey team, I was living in St Clair Shores we had a game at Trenton Ice Arena we agreed to meet and car pool to the rink. Then we found out that the game time had changed at the last minute, I thought hell we will never make it on time, Frank says I'll drive we have "plenty of time", so we get into his van off we go. Trenton Ice arena 45 minutes away and 38 miles across downtown Detroit, we made it on time and won the hockey game. If you have ever driven with Frank you will understand how he did it. Vicky and I had a wonderful visit last year with Frank, Carol, Glen and Jo, Frank took us on a  boat ride to Sinbads On The River for dinner and proceeded to Captain his boat down the river for a beautiful evening,  it was a perfect night in August with friends as we hadn't seen Frank for a while, this will be one of the many memories I will cherish knowing Frank. I am not mourning Franks passing, I am celebrating his life of good times, contributions and of course his will of spirit. Your friend Jimmy HaHa. 










I didn't know Frank, but I do know his daughter, Janele. I love her dearly and know how much she loved her father and always will. His memory will live on forever. His spirit will always be here and he was able to leave earth with beautiful intelligent funny children that will always remember him and he can be proud looking down on them. I would like to pass on my deepest condolences and sympathies. 

My family has been friends with the Benson’s ever since I was a little girl. Frank was an amazing father, husband and friend.  He helped anyone he could, including us.  He will be dearly missed. 

We lost one of the best when Frank passed so suddenly.He helped an inspired so many people in so many ways.Frank was a great husband, father, grandfather,brother and the best friend I could have.We were lucky enough to be boating buddies with the Benson family for 30 memory filled years.We will miss you for the rest of our years!    I never "dress up", but Gary and Geri were getting married. So I make and deliver their wedding cake. Time to go home and get ready for the reception. I walk into the Hall and Frank is at the bottom of the stairs. He yells... "OH MY GOD, MAR IS WEARING A DRESS"!!!  Of course everybody is now staring at me and that ugly dress. I walked in and ditched the heels though. I laughed then and I'm laughing now.  I haven't worn a dress again to this day. He knew how much I hated to "play dress up", he payed attention. "I love you Lumpy, nobody else would have gotten away with that, you are just too special to me".

Well I was an apprentice under your dad/grandpa he always harassed me. This memory is from when Joe Perrione (who is also passed) we’re doing our final exam setting the motor in the apprenticeship school. Frank came in not wanting to miss a chance to MESS with me he came over and I had everything set up. I had all my shims to level and align the motor. Frank thru them all out. We had some choice words. But when he left I had backups. We scored 100 with NO HELP FROM FRANK he will be missed 

He was a man with a voice.  We need more like him.  He will be missed 😢

I only met him a few times though my friend April.. My heart goes out to the family & friends. God Bless you all & Fill your hearts with Love at this time. 

Frank Benson gave me strength and courage in times that I needed them both.  His leadership and direction was instrumental in winning some very difficult battles that occurred, as they sometimes do, in the Skilled Trades environment.  For that I will always be grateful.

As a friend, Frank was supportive, funny, stern, consoling, and always available to assist me when I asked for his help.

All of us at Royal Arc are better today because of Frank.  We will miss you.

Frank was always a visible neighbor....outside cutting the grass, cleaning out the garage or  captaining his boat down the canal.  He always had time to chat and give trxy pets. He will truly be missed on Lakecrest by all who live here.
