Gary Lee Mercurio, age 66, passed away on June 29, 2023. He was born in Detroit, Michigan on July 1, 1956 to his late parents Edward and Delores Mercurio. Gary is survived by his beloved wife of 35 years, Jeannine; loving children: Michael (Cheyenne), Nicole (Cameron) Davidson, Katie Shay; and dear grandchildren: Brynlee, Claire, Troy, and two on the way. He was also preceded in death by his father-in-law, Henry Giroux and mother-in-law, Jean Giroux. Gary loved being a family man and spending with his family, especially his children and grandchildren. He had a love for cars and was a great backyard mechanic. Gary could fix anything, “If Papa can’t fix it, we are all screwed.” Gary previously worked at Slitters Tool & Die and Modern Engineering and was the past owner of Meineke Muffler Shop. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family for the grandchildren’s education accounts. Visitation, Wednesday, July 5, 2023 from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. memory sharing service at Kaul Funeral Home, 28433 Jefferson Ave., St. Clair Shores. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 6, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. (Gathering 10:00 a.m.) at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Cadillac Memorial Gardens East.
