My first memory of Jerry I was very worried to meet him I understood he was an old school Irish Detroit police officer I had sweaty palms was Thanksgiving Denise Carol told me to buy a specific bottle of wine or two maybe three and I did and I totally did not expect to see the man walk through the door that everybody talked about is very happy excited shaking my hand talk to me I have tattoos so with Jerry being related to the police he had a few questions for his daughter Denise about me lol but I did have those bottles of wine on the back shelf before the evening was through Jerry and I had spoken lots of stories his stories were like sitting back and listening to a novel of the old days of Detroit but in a funny way the way he explained it but in a beautiful way at the same time how great Detroit really is from then he and I became great friends whether he looked at me as a son-in-law just the boyfriend of his daughter we always had great times great moments on his boat great stories down the river great siestas at muscoot and other places there is a good man you will never ever ever be forgotten there will not ever be a day that I do not travel across lake St Clair in my boat and not think about the times that he and I and his Son's & Daughter's and family Kevin Jeanie Tim Denise and family all had a great time out there and friends as well with Kim miles this is why God blessed us with memories so you will never forget and then you can pass your memory on in your next conversation whether it be your son your daughter your grandchild and that's how they learn to live through the family amen

Many prayers go out to the Carroll family.  Heaven gained a great guy.  Fun loving, always thinking of others.  Loved his family.  I'll ways remember the many stories Jerry shared about his years on the police force.  He loved his boat,  cruising around in the Noth channel ,  lake St. Clair.  He was bummed when I got a boat.  He thought we wouldn't go out on his boat anymore.  But, we did.  Long rides, long talks, stopping at bumpers for a burger.  I loved his zeal for life.  He washed his car everyday to keep the dust off in the summer.  He is a great man, and will be truly missed.  Jerry, you left a big mark on my heart.  You were like another Dad to me.  May you RIP forevermore. You will ALWAYS BE IN OUR HEARTS. Love Denise and Dave Thiry.
