He was a fun-loving man who truly never met a stranger. He especially treasured the time he spent with his many friends, several of whom remained lifelong companions through the years, sharing countless laughs, adventures, and unforgettable memories together. With his easy-going spirit, warm smile, and quick sense of humor, he had a way of making everyone around him feel welcomed and comfortable. He lived life carefree and to the fullest, never worrying too much and always focusing on enjoying the moment.
Jerry proudly served his country in the United States Navy, a chapter of his life he carried with pride and honor.
Above all else, he loved his family deeply. His children and grandchildren were the center of his world, and he cherished every moment spent with them. Whether he was telling jokes, sharing stories, or simply enjoying time together, he brought laughter and joy wherever he went.
He was known as a true social butterfly who could strike up a conversation with anyone. One of his favorite ways to enjoy life was doing things “first class,” making memories, traveling, and appreciating the finer experiences life had to offer. He especially enjoyed his 20 wonderful years living in Florida, where he embraced the sunshine, friendships, and relaxed lifestyle he loved so much. He also enjoyed videography, photography and weekly Knights of Columbus meetings and events for 50 years.
He will be remembered for his contagious smile, kind heart, carefree nature, and ability to make people laugh. His presence lit up every room, and his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Jerry now joins the love of his life, Gerry, and his beloved son, Michael, in Heaven, resting peacefully in the arms of the Lord.
He is survived by his second wife Kathleen, son Alan Mierzwa and daughters Nancy McCrossin (Paul), and Cindy (Mark) Tagg. Grandchildren Samantha (Phil) Flowers, Zachary McCrossin, Beau and Logan Mierzwa, Charles, Ella, and Mark Tagg. Great grandchildren Brendan, Gabby and Evelyn Flowers.
