Gloria was a graduate of Divine Child High School. In the years that followed, she met the love of her life, Gerald Peruski, and together they built a life marked by steadfast devotion, quiet strength, and enduring faith.
A diligent and respected professional, Gloria worked as a pupil accounting specialist with Lakeshore Public Schools, where her hard work and reliability were evident to all who had the privilege of working alongside her. She later retired from Lakeshore Public Schools, leaving behind a legacy of conscientious service and care for others.
Gloria was the loving wife of 59 years to Gerald Peruski. She was the cherished mother of Gina (Gregg) Smith and Geri Peruski, and a deeply devoted grandmother to Troy, William, Rilewa, and Matthew, finding great joy in time spent with her grandchildren. She was a dear sister to Josephine Cassar, and sister-in-law to Raymond (Judy) Peruski. Gloria was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Loretta Cortis, and her brother-in-law Robert Peruski.
Those who knew Gloria will remember her gentle manner, kind heart, and the steady wisdom she offered so naturally—often in quiet ways, through patience, presence, and thoughtful care. She found happiness in simple, meaningful pursuits: sewing when she could, sharing woodworking projects with her husband, attending craft shows, and, most especially, cooking for her family—an expression of love that made gatherings warmer and home feel like home.
Memorials in memory of Gloria are suggested to St. Jude Children's Fund.
