Gordon Edward Thayer, age 66, passed away on March 18, 2026. He was born in Toledo, Ohio on December 18, 1959 to his late parents Gordon and Barbara Thayer. Gordon is survived by his loving children: Jessica, Zachary, Patience (Paul Brown); his beloved partner: Jackie Fershin and her son: Sean (Lenzie) and granddaughter: Lily; dear grandchildren: Christopher, Kiley, Emma, Athena; siblings: Douglas (Jessi), Gregory, Dennis, Lynette; and nieces: Heather and Kaleigh.
He was a member of the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 154 honor guard and the VFW Bruce Post 1146 ritual team. Gordon was a paramedic and firefighter for 25 years in Millbury, Ohio. He was a man of great honor, always a great friend and would give anyone the shirt off his back. Gordon was an amazing dad. He enjoyed cooking, baking, and telling jokes.
Visitation, Friday, April 10, 2026 from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Kaul Funeral Home, 28433 Jefferson Ave., St. Clair Shores. Funeral service, Saturday, April 11, 2026 at 9:30 am with a gathering beginning at 9:00 am at the funeral home. Burial to follow at Toledo Memorial Park Cemetery in Sylvania, Ohio.
