Gregory John Perrin, age 92, passed away on Monday, September 9, 2024 in St. Clair Shores, Michigan with family by his side. Greg, as he liked to be called, was born in Brooklyn, New York on July 31, 1932, to parents Gregory and Genevieve Perrin.
As a Corporal in the US Army, Greg proudly served his country in the Korean War, earning the Bronze Star for heroic or meritorious achievement in combat. After finishing college, Greg completed law school at St. John's University in Brooklyn, New York. He later served as a public defender before taking a position as a Manhattan Assistant District Attorney, later entering private practice. He loved the law, classical music, and his dear wife of 62 years, Elizabeth Ann Perrin ("Betty"). Betty she was the love of his life. They shared a life together in retirement in St. Augustine, Florida, where Betty loved to garden and both cherished visits from their grandchildren. After losing Betty in 2021, Greg relocated to Michigan in 2022 where his son John resides. Inspired by his favorite poem, Invictus, Greg lived his life as the master of his fate and the captain of his sole. Betty, however, was and remained the master of his heart.
Greg and Betty were blessed with seven children, fifteen grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. Greg and Betty are the parents to: Gregory (Margaret) Perrin, John (Verona) Perrin, Sean (Johanna) Perrin, Thomas (Paula) Perrin, Owen (Jennifer) Perrin, and Justin (Stacey) Perrin. Grandparents to: Gregory E. Perrin, Ian (Breana) Perrin, Michael Perrin, Grace Perrin, Liam Perrin, Dominic Perrin, Lily Perrin, Faith Perrin, Justin Perrin, Mika Perrin, Tessa Perrin, Isa Perrin, Savanna Perrin, Finn Perrin, and Eli Perrin; Great-Grandparents to 3 great-grandchildren. Greg is the brother to Robert Perrin, Gary Perrin and Maryanne Dolan. Greg was preceded in death by his daughter Annmarie (Ronald) Perrin-Miastkowski and his younger brother, James Perrin.
Greg and Betty will now be together again through eternity as family and friends gather to celebrate this remarkable man and the woman he so dearly loved.
