James Dees Jr., age 74, passed away on June 17, 2022. He was born in Camden, Alabama on June 17, 1948 to his late parents James Dees Sr. and Mary Bell Dees. James is survived by his beloved wife Annie; loving children: Sammuel Dees, Carolane Dees, Carolyn (Lewis) Dees-Witt; grandchildren: the late Quan Sammuel Newell, James Edward Witt, Joshua Lewis Witt, Jasmyn Ann Witt; and siblings: Robert G. Perkins, the late Willie Dees, the late Irene Kemp, the late Elijah Dees, Elizabeth Soloman, Mary L. Edwards, Ernest Dees, Georgia Smith, and Elijah Evans Dees. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. with family hour at 10:30 a.m. at Greater St. Paul Baptist Church, 15325 Gratiot Ave., Detroit.
