Jim was born on August 7, 1955. He graduated from South Lake High School and followed in the footsteps of his dad to become a plumber. He was married to Lynn on May 28, 1982 and they were married 42 years.
After owning his own business, Jim worked as a pipe fitter for General Motors for 33 years. He was involved with the UAW Local 160 Veterans Committee. He loved spending time in the garage at his “healing bench”, fixing, tinkering and improving on things in and around the house. He cared deeply about preparing for the future and providing for every eventuality in order to make sure his family (especially his wife) would be taken care of. The fruits of this effort are a comfort during such a difficult time. His family will remember his humor, curiosity, vast knowledge of all things mechanical and his steadiness in the face of any trial.
Preceded in death by his parents Angelo and Theresa, Jim is survived by his wife Lynn, daughters Natalie and Vanessa; grandchildren Roman, Leo, Stella and Blaise; brother David; brothers-in-law Robert and Greg; sisters-in-law Ruth, Jan and Diane; son-in-law Tyler; and nieces and nephews Amanda, Alissa, Patrick, Alexa, Roberta, Matthew and Jessica.
A visitation for James will be held Thursday, February 8, 2024 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Kaul Funeral Home, 28433 Jefferson Ave, St. Clair Shores, MI 48081. A funeral service will occur Friday, February 9, 2024 at 2:00 PM (Instate 1:00 PM) at Trinity Lutheran Church, 38900 Harper Ave, Clinton Township, MI 48036. A luncheon will be held in the community center at church beginning at 3:00 p.m.
