Janet Cheryl Bokano, age 72, passed away on October 23, 2021. She was born on May 15, 1949 in Detroit, Michigan to her parents John and Ivie Cromer. Janet is survived by her beloved husband of 52 years, William; loving children: Cheryl (the late Michael) Jarosz, Deborah (Enoch) Carlton, William (Michelle), Crystal (Daniel) Sonnenberg, Felecia (Mitch), Darrell (Kellie), Christian; dear grandchildren: Thomas (Anna), Sindo, Justice, Ashley, Steven, Gabrielle, Mikey, Noah, Faith, Ivie; one great grandchild on the way; and her cats: Ross, Thumper, and Natasha “Tammy”. Janet loved being a mom and was known as mom or grandma to all. Together with her husband, she lovingly cared for 76 foster children. She was always a mom to someone. Janet enjoyed spending time with her family most of all; she also enjoyed playing cards, doing puzzles, and cooking for her family. She was the proud baker of the world’s best pineapple upside down cake. She held a black belt in Kohl’s shopping.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 28, 2021 from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Kaul Funeral Home, 28433 Jefferson Ave., St. Clair Shores. Celebration of Life service on Friday, October 29, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. (Instate 10:00 a.m.) at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 51161 Maria St., New Baltimore.
