Jennie Hayes

Jennie M. Arthmire-Hayes, 93, of St. Clair Shores was born September 8, 1924 in Detroit, Michigan and passed away in the company of family June 2, 2018. She was preceded in death by her first husband Sam Arthmire, second husband Chester Hayes, 2 brothers and 2 sisters. She is survived by her children Annmarie Altomare, Carolyn Arthmire, Sandra (Jim) Varpness, David (Lisa) Altomari, Janet (Joe) Sikorski and brother, Phillip (Colleen) D’Agostino. Jennie will be fondly remembered by her grandchildren: Abby (Bryan) Staerkel, Michael (Carrie) Altomari, Jake Varpness, Matthew (Zulie) Altomari, Catie Varpness, Patrick Altomari, Catherine Altomari, Benjamin Sikorski, Victoria Sikorski and great grandchildren: Olivia, Noah, Cecelia, Isla, and Miles. Jennie was very proud of her family. She was an active member of St. Jude Church in Detroit for many years: she was a member of the Rosary Alter Society, a Girl Scout Leader, and Co-Chair of the Annual Spaghetti Dinner. In her spare time she enjoyed golf, bowling, bocce ball, pinochle, and cooking anything Italian. Donations may be made to The Capuchins or a charity of choice. Visitation Friday, June 8 from 3:00-8:00 p.m. with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Kaul Funeral Home, 28433 Jefferson Ave., St. Clair Shores. Funeral Mass Saturday, June 9 at 11:30 a.m. (Instate 11:00 a.m.) at Our Lady of Hope, 28301 Little Mack, St. Clair Shores.
