John “Jack” L. Carolin, age 94, passed away on October 4, 2025. He is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Sharon; loving children: Kathleen, Maureen Sandercott, Mary (John) Steigelman; dear grandchildren: Christine Steigelman, William Steigelman, Ashley (Justin) Serra; great-grandchildren: Sunny, Ivy; and sister: Nancy Ebbing.
Jack was the past President and owner of Stanton Steel. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean war and had many good memories of his time serving his country. Jack was a great outdoorsman and enjoyed duck hunting and fishing. He was an avid golfer and had a deep love of nature, especially trees. Jack attended art school for a short time after graduating high school and rekindled his love of watercolor after retiring, giving his paintings to his family and friends. He was a former member of the Grosse Pointe Artist Society and the St. Clair Shores Artist Association. Jack was active within his Catholic faith and had a love for people and animals, especially his dog Cara.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Grosse Pointe Animal Adoption Society or IHM Sisters.
Visitation, Wednesday, October 8, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 6:00 p.m. at Kaul Funeral Home, 28433 Jefferson Ave., St. Clair Shores. Burial will take place at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Detroit, Michigan.
