John was born on November 5, 1940, to Orlando and Agatha Nardecchia. He retired from General Motors after many years of dedicated service. In retirement, he enjoyed golfing and spending time with the people he loved most. Some of his favorite memories were made around the table during Tuesday Pizza Nights with his grandchildren. He was also famous for his chocolate pudding, and no child was ever far from a stash of candy or snacks when he was around.
John had a wonderful sense of humor and was especially well known for his horrible dad and grandpa jokes. He loved making his grandchildren laugh and sharing those jokes with his siblings, who knew better than anyone how to appreciate his unique sense of humor. He knew every lyric to every song and loved going to the gym.
Above all, John loved his family deeply. His kindness, laughter, generosity, and love will be remembered and cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him. He leaves behind a lifetime of memories filled with family gatherings, laughter, golf, pizza nights, sweet treats, and countless unforgettable jokes.
John will be dearly missed, but his love and the memories he created will remain in the hearts of his family and friends.
Husband of 55 years to the late Judy Nardecchia; beloved father of Renee Nardecchia- Ebert (Randy Ebert), Sharee (Rocco II) Caiozzo, and Ann Marie (Robert Ferguson) Nardecchia-Roberts; proud grandfather of Brandon (Alisha Goguen) Nardecchia, Rocco Caizzo III, Amanda (Paul) Brunsman, William (Fiancée Mary Ferris) Nardecchia, Kayla Caizzo, Alexis (Skyler) Thurlow, Alek Nardecchia, Autumn Nardecchia, and Autumn (Chad) Smith; great-grandfather of Rocco Caizzo IV, Gianna Nardecchia, William Nardecchia, Cooper Thurlow, Charlie Thurlow, Aubrey Caizzo, Olivia Nardecchia, Gabe Smith, and Willow Smith; dear brother of Joann (Nick) Cholak, Jim Nardecchia, Larry Nardecchia, Jerry (Cindy) Nardecchia, and Mary Nardecchia (Tony Stoll); also survived by many extended family members. He was preceded in passing by his parents, Orlando and Agatha; brother, Paul Nardecchia; and sister, Rita Satterfield.
The family will greet guests from 3:00pm until 8:00pm with a 7:00pm Rosary Service on Wednesday, September 16, 2026 at Kaul Funeral Home, 28433 Jefferson Rd., St. Clair Shores, Michigan. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:30am Thursday, September 17 at St. Margaret of Scotland Catholic Church, 12201 E. 13 Mile Rd., St. Clair Shores. In State from 10:00am until time of mass at 10:30am. Interment immediately following at Resurrection Cemetery, Clinton Twp., Michigan
