Kenneth Schmidt, age 83, passed away on January 10, 2025. He was born in Detroit, Michigan on February 13, 1941 to his late parents Norman and Anne Schmidt. Kenneth was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 47 years, Lanie and loving daughter, Kimberly. He is survived by his loving son: Kenneth (Brenda); dear grandchildren: Joshua, Dakota; brother: Larry (Margaret); and partner: Shirley Cooper.
Kenneth grew up in St. Clair Shores and graduated from Lakeview High School. He then entered the United State Air Force where he served for 5 years. Kenneth was a St. Clair Shores police officer for 25 years. He was an avid hunter and scuba diver. Kenneth was a family man and a beloved husband and father.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Legion Post 457.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, January 26, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with military honors at 6:00 p.m. at the VFW Bruce Post 1146, 28404 Jefferson Ave., St. Clair Shores.
