
Laura Mae Calabro, 97, was born May 4, 1929, in St. Clair Shores, Michigan, and passed away May 17, 2026. Laura will be remembered as a beloved presence in the lives of those who knew her—steadfast in faith, generous in spirit, and guided by a quiet wisdom that brought comfort and clarity to family and friends alike.
Laura graduated from South Lake High School and remained faithful to her church community at St. Paul's Church, where her devotion reflected a life lived with purpose, gratitude, and care for others.
With a strong work ethic and steady dedication, Laura built a remarkable career at Michigan Bell, where she worked for 29 years. It was there, through a co-worker, that she met her husband, Augustine.
Laura married the love of her life, Augustine, and together they made many happy memories. She was the beloved mother of her daughter, JoAnn Calabro. Laura was one of nine siblings and is survived by her sisters Martha and Esther. She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings Ernie, Betty, Walter, Rose Mary, Edgar, and Rhoda. She will also be deeply missed by many nieces, nephews, and all those who loved and knew her well.
In her personal life, Laura’s kind-hearted nature shone through in the ways she nurtured both people and places. She loved gardening and was known for her green thumb. She also enjoyed traveling, and most of all, she treasured time spent with family—moments made meaningful by her warmth, steadiness, and enduring love.
Visitation will be held at Kaul Funeral Home, 28433 Jefferson Ave, St. Clair Shores, MI 48081, on Saturday, June 13, 2026, from 10:00 am to 10:30 am.

Laura will be laid to rest at Resurrection Cemetery, in Clinton Township privately after her services.
