Laura Marie Smith, age 59, passed away with the love of her life by her side on April 16, 2023. She was born in Mt. Clemens, Michigan on January 29, 1964 to her dear parents Sally and the late Francis “Sonny” Smith Jr. Laura is also survived by her forever fiancé: James Latham; sister: Cheryl (Darrell) Deffen; nephew: Joseph Deffen; step-children: Ashley Latham, Michael (Jessica Sacka) Latham, Stephanie (Matthew) Perales; grandchildren: Brooklyn, Audrey, Ellie; and her cat: Smokey. Laura was a member of the Moose Lodge. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Laura also enjoyed diamond art, making jewelry, and boating. She loved traveling especially up north to her cottage with Jim and Smokey and to Florida. Laura prided herself in being a hardworking and dedicated employee. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the University of Michigan, Michigan Medicine Hospital. Visitation, Sunday, April 23, 2023 from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Kaul Funeral Home, 28433 Jefferson Ave., St. Clair Shores.
