He was preceded in death by his parents Wilma (Yanos) and Frank Yandura; his sister Elaine (Bob†) Romain.
He is survived by his wife Pamela (Silarski); his children Christine Yandura and Jill (Jay) Yandura-Bocci; his grandson Alexander Salerno; and his siblings Richard (Lila†) Yandura and Cathy (Bob Sr. †) Stenger. Dearest uncle to Robert (Tara) Stenger, Jr., Katie and Thomas Stenger, Jeffrey (Emily) Yandura, Shalyn (Andy) Furton, Michael Romain, 4 great-nephews and 1 great-niece; also, many cherished cousins.
Leonard proudly served in the United States Marine Corps and was stationed at Camp Pendleton, CA. After serving his country, he began his 31-year career in the General Motors Argonaut Division.
He was a devoted Catholic and an active member of St. Isaac Jogues Parish where he served as an usher and altar server for daily and funeral Masses, participated in the choir and was a member of the Men’s Club which helped with bingo and fundraisers.
Leonard was an excellent craftsman and had many talents in the plumbing, electrical and wood working fields. He was always available and ready to help others with their home improvement projects. Leonard was a perfectionist in everything he did.
He loved to play golf, Euchre and Pinochle with his family and friends. In his younger years he both refereed and played ice hockey among other sports.
“Everybody loved Leonard.” He had an outgoing personality. He was an instant friend to anyone he met.
He will be loved and missed forever by all who knew him.

Visitation, Tuesday, July 1, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Kaul Funeral Home, 28433 Jefferson Ave., St. Clair Shores. Funeral Mass, Wednesday, July 2, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. (Instate 10:00 a.m.) at St. Isaac Jogues Catholic Church, 21100 Madison St., St. Clair Shores. Burial will take place on Thursday, July 3, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Great Lakes National Cemetery, 4200 Belford Rd., Holly.
