Lloyd McDonald Jr.

Lloyd, Jr. was born to Lloyd and Audie McDonald on April 28, 1929, in Detroit, Michigan. He was known to his family and friends as "Bugs" or "Mac." Lloyd, Jr. graduated from Lakeview High School in 1947. He married the love of his life, Phyllis Harlacker, in 1951, and they lived happily together in St. Clair Shores until her death in 1999.

Lloyd, Jr. was a veteran of the Korean War. He worked for the Michigan Consolidated Gas Company in Detroit for 39 year and received honors for his excellent work ethic and creative troubleshooting skills. Throughout his life, he enjoyed fishing on Lake St. Clair and gardening in his ever-expanding backyard vegetable patch. His spirited storytelling will be missed by family and friends, as no one could tell a story like Mac.

Lloyd, Jr. is survived by his five children: Susan (Tom) Keegan, of Chicago, IL; Kurt (Nancy), of Brighton, MI; Scott (Janet), of Vista, CA; Eric, of Hamburg, NJ; Jennifer (Rick), of Kalamazoo, MI. He is also survived by 12 loving grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Rose Arbor Hospice Residence, 5473 Croyden Ave, Kalamazoo, MI 49009.

The Visitation will be held Monday, August 18, from 4-8p.m. at the funeral home. The Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, August 19, at 10a.m. at Kaul Funeral Home, 28433 Jefferson Ave, St. Clair Shores.
