Lora Anne Corsini, age 59, of Wayne, Michigan, was born to beloved parents Becky Torrey and Glen Corsini on December 30, 1965. She had the light of curiosity and mischief behind her big blue eyes. She was trouble to any babysitter who tried. It was the pride and joy of her grandmother and grandfather Bob and Helen Woodard. As a child, she was known to walk up to perfect strangers and ask their name, curious to find out more about who they were and what stories they had to tell. She was a brave, big sister to beloved brother Kevin Corsini. Kevin credits Lora with having saved his life when they were children. He nearly drowned in Lake Saint Clair while playing on a raft. Thankful for Lora’s keen instinct and speed, she ran for help which aided in her brother’s rescue. As an adult, her choice of fiery red hair was a direct reflection of her personality. Lora was known to be feisty. In her mid twenties her sparkling blue eyes and radiant smile caught the attention of James “Jim” Strickland. From that point on they spent nearly 4 decades driving each other crazy and loving each other unconditionally. Referred to as “Red” by her friends, she never hesitated to put somebody in their place when she needed to. Although she took no nonsense, she was the most kind and loving person. Lora was always willing to help a friend no matter the circumstance. She loved God and was baptized with her brother Kevin in the summer of 77 at the Rochester Hills Baptist Church. She had a passion for singing the gospel with the Detroit Rescue Mission Ministries choir. She spent many years sharing her testimony as an inspiration to others who struggled with addiction. She brought light and joy into the lives of all those around her and served as an example of strength and endurance, no matter life‘s challenges. Her sudden passing leaves a void larger than can be explained. She will be forever missed and never forgotten.
She leaves behind her mother Becky Torrey. Long time partner James Strickland. Loving daughter Jennifer Strickland. Cherished granddaughter Ulani Smith. Dear brother Kevin Corsini. And to those who knew her as Auntie Lora, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, who held her dear. Lora will be missed by all those who loved and knew her.
A celebration of life for Lora will be held Thursday, April 17, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM, with a Family Sharing of Memories from 5:00PM to 5:30 PM at Kaul Funeral Home, 28433 Jefferson Ave., St. Clair Shores, Michigan 48081.
