Born on April 11, 1932, in Cleveland, Marie embraced a life rooted in faith, family, and devotion. Her days overflowed with simple joys – homemade Italian dishes and the full bellies that always followed; sunlit days fishing and boating with Mario; their unmistakable spark as they danced; and the thrill of skiing with their children. She was the heart of every gathering, her home a haven of warmth, especially during the holidays, as her organ playing mingled with parakeet songs and the laughter of her family.
From an early age, Marie helped raise her siblings and later poured that same steadfast care into raising her six children. During their final years, she tenderly cared for her mother and husband, embodying the truest meaning of love and selflessness.
Guided by faith, Marie found beauty in the ordinary, grace in service, and joy in giving. Her presence made those around her feel cherished - a gift that will echo through generations.
She is survived by her six children — Patrick (Teri), Gregg, Chris (Yvonne), Charles (Karen), Teresa (Chris) Ricard, and Maria (James) — and by her 11 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren, who will forever carry her love in their hearts.
Visitation will be held Friday, October 24, from 3:00-8:00 p.m., rosary at 7 p.m. at Kaul Funeral Home, 28433 Jefferson Ave., St. Clair Shores. On Saturday, Marie will lie in state at 9:30 a.m., followed by Mass at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 22412 Overlake St., St. Clair Shores.
Marie’s legacy of love and grace will continue to shine through the lives of her family. May her soul rest in the eternal peace she so richly deserves.
