Marilyn resided in Roseville, Michigan.
She is the beloved wife to the late Roger Kubat. Loving mother to Aaron (Christy) Kubat and Katherine (Stephen) Zepke. Marilyn is the cherished grandmother to Benjamin, Ari, and Rian. She is the great-grandmother to Elliot. Dear sister to William (Jean) Pruzinsky, and Aunt to many nieces and nephews Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents and siblings Joseph Pruzinsky, Geraldine Podgorski and Elizabeth VanGoethem.
Marilyn enjoyed the quiet joys of reading, writing, bowling, playing cards and golf—activities that reflected her thoughtful nature, subtle competitiveness, and appreciation for a relaxing afternoon. She loved conversation and had a gift for connecting with others, often striking up meaningful chats wherever she went.
Her greatest pride was her family. She never missed an opportunity to celebrate their lives or to document them—often with a camera in hand. She took thousands of photos over the years, capturing birthdays, holidays, and moments in between. Countless photos are waiting to be developed holding decades of family life to be rediscovered.
To most, Marilyn was warm, kind, and gently present. But those closest to her knew she also had a wonderfully dry sense of humor—subtle, perfectly timed, and delivered with a calm expression that often made the moment even funnier. Her wit never asked for attention but always left a lasting impression.
She leaves behind full hearts, countless memories, and one or two drawers full of photographic mysteries. Marilyn will be deeply missed—and remembered always, with love, gratitude, and the kind of smile that comes a few seconds after the joke.
