Martin Ward Sikes, age 75, passed away on September 12, 2026. Born March 11, 1951, to parents Robert and Sylvia Sikes, raised by stepmother Mary Sikes. Marty was a beloved presence in the lives of many, remembered for a generous spirit, a kind heart, and the steady wisdom he offered so naturally to those around him. Marty resided in Eastpointe, Michigan.
Marty attended Catholic school in Detroit. After graduation, he continued his education in college and earned a Bachelor’s Degree—an achievement that reflected the diligence and work ethic that would remain hallmarks of his life.
Marty worked as a real estate agent and later transitioned into health and nutrition, becoming a fitness coach. In that role, he helped countless people improve their lives, offering not only guidance and encouragement, but also the practical care of someone who truly wanted others to thrive.
Marty was the beloved brother of Susan Sikes and Robert A. Sikes Jr. He was a loving uncle to Bob (Maria) Sikes III, April (John) Fish, and Lisa (Matt) Crew, and a dear great uncle to John Clouse II, Darrian Clouse, Milana Sikes, and Bianca Sikes.
Health and nutrition were more than interests to Marty; they were a meaningful part of how he lived and how he served others. He also brought people together through music and community, organizing many Concerts in the Park in St. Clair Shores. A strong supporter of the Sands Bash for Special Olympics currently, and in previous years he supported Maggie's Wigs 4 Kids of Michigan, and the Lupus Foundation. Marty gave his time and energy to causes that mattered, and he loved showing up for friends—especially to support their bands as they played all over.
Visitation Friday, September 18, 2026, from 2:00 pm - 8:00 pm, at Kaul Funeral Home 28433 Jefferson Ave., St. Clair Shores, Michigan 48081.
Funeral Service will take place on Saturday, September 19, 2026, beginning with a gathering at 9:00 am, until time of service at 11:00 am, at Kaul Funeral Home.
Marty will be laid to rest privately at Capac Cemetery.
Memorial donations in memory of Marty are suggested to Wentz Warriors Special Olympics of Michigan.
